Toward the Industrial Application of Monolayer Graphene Film

Abstract: Graphene is a promising materials for the next generation optoelectronics and electronics devices. However, the mass production of monolayer graphene film is challenging toward the industrial applications. Moreover, the high-end applications usually require high quality single-crystalline graphene film, which is not practical in terms of efficiency and cost.The most practical product available in the market within the next several years is the monolayer polycrystalline graphene film with considerable electrical and optical properties. Here I will present the recent progress on graphene mass production technologyand their applications in touch screen and display in our group. The prototype of the flexible mobile devices will be demonstrated, and the opportunities and challenges toward the commercialization will be discussed.
CV :Haofei Shi received his PhD degree in Optical Engineering from the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2009). After postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan (2009-2011), he became a professor of Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology (CIGIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), where he serves as the director of the Center of Nanofabrication and System Integration. He started up the Chongqing Graphene Tech. Co., Ltd. in 2013 and serves as the chief scientist of the company, where they completed the 1st and 2nd generation monolayer graphene film mass production line, and involved in the commercialization of graphene film. His research interests include synthesis of graphene film, fabrication of functional optoelectronics and electronics devices, and their application in information and energy related systems.
